आइये, चाइनीज़ राखियों का बहिष्कार करें।
पिछले कुछ वर्षों से हमारे देश में, चीनी उत्पादों-इलेक्ट्रानिक्स, टॉयस, फटाको ने कब्जा किया हुआ है। हमारे मानस में अपने देश में निर्मित ऐसे उत्पादों को कमतर समझने की भावना है… पर यह सच्चाई से कोसों दूर हैं। जब हमारे अपने देश में निर्मित ऐसे प्रोडक्ट्स भी गुणवत्ता व प्रदर्शन में हर प्रकार से उत्कृष्ट होते हैं… तो फिर हम भारतवासी चीन में बने उत्पादों को खरीदकर उसे आर्थिक लाभ पहुँचा रहे हैं- इसका दुष्परिणाम हमारे अपने देश के कुटीर, लघु या मध्यम उद्योगों को हानि के रूप में होता है- उसमें काम करने वाले श्रमिक, जीवन की मूल-भूत जरूरतों के लिए संघर्ष करते दिखते हैं।
आगामी कुछ दिनों में राखी का त्यौहार आनेवाला है, इस बार फिर बाजार में, चाइनीज राखियों की भरमार होगी, पर इस बार क्या हम अपने को, इन्हें खरीदने से रोक सकेंगे… निश्चय ही इसका जवाब “हा” में होना चाहिए यदि हम दृढ़ निश्चय करें कि हम अपने देश के प्रति सम्मान व प्रेम की भावना रखते हुए, यह निश्चय करें कि अपने देश में हस्त-निर्मित राखियों को अपने भाईयों की कलाईयों पर सजाना है।
चीन ने अपने देश में, गुगल, फेसबुक, अमेजान जैसी विश्वव्यापी बहु राष्ट्रीय कंपनीयों को प्रतिबंधित किया हुआ है, और अपने देश की कंपनियों को ही बढ़ावा देता है और अपनी अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत बना रहा है। समाचार पत्रों के अनुमान, चीन की अर्थव्यवस्था इस वर्ष अपनी पहली व दूसरी तिमाही में 6.8% व 6.9% वृद्धि दर्ज की है जो उनके अनुसार से ज्यादा रही। हमारे द्वारा करोड़ों रूपयों के चाइनीज प्रोडक्ट्स खरीदने पर हुए लाभ, चीन को हथियारों की खरीदी में सहायता पहुंचाते है- जिससे उसकी सैन्य शक्ति में वृद्धि होती है। आज की स्थिति में हमारे देश और चीन के तनावपूर्ण संबंधों को ध्यान में रखते हुए, हमारे द्वारा चाइनीज प्रोडक्टस का बहिष्कार के फलस्वरूप, उसे भारी नुकसान होगा जिससे उसकी अर्थव्यवस्था को भी करारा झटका लगेगा।
राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी ने अंग्रेजो के खिलाफ विदेशी वस्त्रों का बहिष्कार-असहयोग आंदोलन कर वस्त्रों की होली जलवाई, पूरे देश में फैले इस आंदोलन ने, अंग्रेजी शासन को देश से उखाड़ फेंका।
तो क्या हम अपने दृढ़ निश्चय और कर्म से चीनी उत्पादों का बहिष्कार कर, अपने राष्ट्र के हित में, मजबूत कदम नहीं बढ़ायेंगे? जब जंग हमारी है- तो जीत भी हमारी ही होगी।

Big question. This depends on the business, the complexity of the offering and the cost (which may eliminate certain avenues as the revenue generation does not justify the exposure investment). Here is a list of some of the ways:

  • SEO (search engine optimization) - Organic traffic that finds you with high quality relevant and targeted content appropriate to your offering.
  • PPC (pay per click advertising) - Includes anything from Google Adwords (most expensive, most relevant and most human traffic), banner ads, pop-up ads, affiliate networks (networks that have affiliates that have influence over traffic with certain demographic criteria they advertise to)
  • Social Media Marketing (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, PInterest, Instagram, Periscope, YouTube, Vevo, Vimeo) - Generating content on a regular and frequent basis targeted at the appropriate audience with the intent to drive traffic immediately to their website or build a following first and have the traffic trickle through as it grows.

  • App stores (Itunes, Google Store, E-Commerce App stores) - Provide either free, trial or paid subscription offerings on a platform in exchange for a revenue share agreement to be on the platform.
  • Native Advertising - This is where you pay someone that has a following to do a piece that is disguised as news or content but is actually content designed to advertise an offering. In essence, it's a way to advertise without people knowing they are advertised to since when done well, it's really difficult to tell the difference. Very effective when done properly.

Anyway, it's entirely possible I missed some avenues and advertising is such a dynamic space, but overall I believe this provides a comprehensive perspective.

One of the benefits of TV advertising is its ability to communicate with a very large audience. Considered a form of mass media, TV ads work well to attract attention, generate awareness and establish preference for products and services, says Lin Grensing-Pophal, author of "Marketing With the End in Mind." Because of the broad audience they target--particularly through major TV networks--TV ads tend to provide general, rather than very specific, messages.

Growing Ability to Differentiate
